President David McDonald


Unless you’re in the restaurant business, the name David McDonald, may not be a household name; David is the President and Chief Operating Officer of OSI Group LLC, which has been ranked #58 among America’s largest privately held companies.

OSI is a leader in the food processing industry and has partnered with some of the most recognized restaurant brands in the United States and abroad; providing a variety of food products, which include meat patties, bacon, hot dogs, pizza, etc. According to OSI generates an estimated $6.1 billion in revenue and has a workforce comprised of 20,000 employees.


As President and Chief Operating Officer, David McDonald has guided OSI to unparalleled success in foreign and domestic markets; although headquartered in Aurora, IL, this global leading food-processing company supplied 113 tons of food products during the 2008 Beijing Olympic games. This successful business venture has earned the company the distinction of being the premiere food supplier for many well-known brands such as McDonald’s, Starbucks, Subway and Papa John’s. David attended Iowa State University, where he graduated with a B.S in animal science; since earning his degree in 1987, he has been with OSI.


David began his career as a project manager for OSI before earning the distinction of president and COO. In addition to his role with OSI, David also holds the title of president of the American Meat Institute, which is a Washington, D.C. based organization that represents packers, processors, and slaughterhouses. David McDonald OSI Group is also an independent director at Marfrig Global Foods S.A, which took over OSI facilities in European and Brazilian markets. David’s management and leadership skills have contributed greatly to not only his individual success but also the success of OSI. David has demonstrated competence in the areas of operations management, product development, business strategy and new business development.
