James Dondero Is Heavily Involved In Enhancing The Family Place’s Legacy Campaign

Recently, Highland Capital Management’s president and co-founder, James Dondero, revealed that the firm had donated a $1 million grant to The Family Place. The aim of the grant is to help the organization to raise the remaining amount of $2.8 million for its Legacy Campaign. This announcement was made during the organization’s 21st Annual Texas Trailblazer Awards Luncheon. The Family Place event was held at the Hilton Anatole in Dallas, Texas.

The grant is managed via the Highland Dallas Foundation, Highland’s charity division. For the period running to April 4, 2017, the company sought to match any amount raised towards initiative by up to 50 percent. Soon after the announcement had been made, The Family Place collected $200,000. The campaign targets to raise $16.5 million.

According to Dondero, the challenge grant responds to a call to action made by the mayor of Dallas, Mike Rawlings, for the community to assist in dealing with the issue of family violence. David Brown, the Dallas Police Chief also made a similar call. Dondero said that they were happy with how The Family Place, through devoted charity support, executed the concept in just a year. They were proud to support the initiative.

Paige Flink said that the campaign provided an opportunity to multiply the impact of the donation of those considering the effort to offer lifesaving shelter and innovative services to victims of family violence. Flink is the chief executive officer of The Family Place, a premier organization in Dallas. The organization supports the development and operations of the new Central Dallas Counseling Center, which is named in honor of Ann Moody
